INSIGHT/INNOVATION
- As we move
forward, we must be forward thinking…keep an open mind with vision of our
future; Kiwanis is a long standing institution, but times are rapidly
changing and we must be prepared to change with them Quote from Prince Phillip of
England: Change does not change tradition. It strengthens it. Change is a challenge and an
opportunity, not a threat.”
- Compromise –
be accepting of changes – whatever they may hold and we can do that as long as we keep our motto in mind – service to our community is
our priority
- Considering
the restructuring of our dues and membership categories in order to bring
in new members, regain lost members…
INFORMATION
- Be willing to
communicate new ideas or expand on our current ones; Look forward to your
feedback as club members
- Keep updates
timely and current
- New Member
orientation is a goal for our Lt. Govenor for both recruiting and
retention.
INVOLVEMENT
- Challenge all
of our members to continue participate in a variety of projects and
activities. The recent pancake
breakfast is a good example of teamwork.
- Assist in
helping to run the club and weekly meetings– sign up for speakers and
greeters and invocators. Would like to reinstitute the
introduction of speakers by the person who signs them up.
INTEGRATION
- Collaborate
with other clubs and organizations – such as Festival of Lights; bring
back Service Clubs United (who accomplished several entry-way displays
through joint efforts) to work together on a major city or county wide
project.
- Do our
fundraisers for one or two charities annually rather than spreading our
dollars too thin.
- Search for
new members: People, not only liked
to be asked, they probably need to be asked! So just ask and see what kind of
response we get.
Make guests and new members feel welcome. Change the people you normally sit with at
lunch and learn something new about our current members. There is no easy fix to changing things and I don’t
anticipate that we will accomplish all these tasks in the coming year, but
as … Frederick Douglass: If there is no struggle,
there is no progress
